pardon my absence

once again. The laptop I was using and had all my files, printers and scanners on, died a quick death last Thursday so my DH set me up with a desk top in my art space, which BTW is in a corner of our bedroom. As that is not an ideal situation, we have decided to move it, the computer, out to the living room. So, because he'll be moving it, he has not hooked up my printers or scanner or installed any of my programs or even downloaded the contents of the old hard drive to this computer. Therefore, I can do no art nor share any art. I really hope he gets this changed over soon.

Sorry for the whine, I think I'll go have some cheese now! LOL

See you soon, hopefully!

I guess I'm on a roll!

The start of my Hallowe'en atcs. I think I'll be sending them off as RAKs as I'm not in any swaps, yet! LOL

Speaking of swaps, I'll be uploading all the pages from My White on White Fat Book swap soon. I'm trying to decide how to bind it. It will be almost as thick as the Alpha Fat Book is. Yippee, the fatter the better (just don't let my thighs hear that ;o))

Tagged again

this time as a thinking blogger!? Thank you Jan, I soo appreciate this honour but I don't think anyone who knows me would agree that I think. LOL

Please go to this blog for an explanation of this award.

Now I have to tag 5 people whose blogs get me thinking. This will be difficult as there are so many wonderful blogs out there.

1. Heather R - this talented woman's art always has something to say

2. Kelly B. - another wonderful artist who always posts a deep thought or comment along with her art

3. Gillian H. - yet another incredible artist whose faith is amazing to me.

4. Katherine S. - who loves to knit and is fighting her way through school despite all the crap that life is throwing at her right now. How very brave she is! And quirky!

There are a couple of others in close running that make me think about my art. I want to be able to establish a style of my own like these artist have and every time I go to their blogs I try to analyze what makes their art so successful and mine, not quite.

Congratulations, you won a !

Should you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging. I thought it would be appropriate to include them with the meme.

The participation rules are simple:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog).

2 more atc's

for the green/sealife atc swap that I have to send out today if I want them to make it on time for the deadline.

I haven't had much time to be as productive as I'd like but I'm stating to get an itch to do some Hallowe'en stuff. LOL I'm not much of a one for Hallowe'en but a friend of mine is really big into it and one of the groups I'm on is starting to have challenges for Hallowe'en art so my interest is starting to get aroused! LOL

I just printed off 2 pages of Hallowe'en images so I'm going to try to get this itch out of my system so I can concentrate on Christmas. LOL

well

I did manage to get a bit of art done this weekend but not really as much as I would have liked. I had to swap out the white on witee swap this weekend which kept me happily busy tho! I'll upload the pics here later. No time right now. And I got 1 atc done for a green or sealife themed swap done. I had hope to get more done for that than the measly 2 I managed.

women in art

This is amazing and I thought I'd share. Art is coming very slowly right now. Sleep seemed to take precedence today. Not tomorrow!

my apologies

for being absent. I was off work for 5 weeks after surgery so I took the time to do a ton of art and have fun. Now I'm back to work. I have no time or energy to do anything artistic, even be on the computer. I miss it so much. LOL Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to do some more of what I love and what relaxes me.

Thank you for your visit, I so appreciate every one of you.

3 more tags

I finished up the thank you tags for the players in the swap. I had so much fun with these. I hope they are liked and enjoyed. These were a kind of breakthrough for me. I had a hard time with collage before but, after perusing many, many fabulous blogs and seeing much fabulous art, I think I get it - just about anything goes It was a very freeing experience. LOL sappy!

Now I'm working on aanother monthly 4 x 4.5 mingle, a 3 x 3 mingle, 2-4-2 with 2 other partners and trying to get some atcs done for an open swap. More challenges! Love i!

my 1st

microscope slide! I have been wanting to do these for years and even told my DH to get me a soldering iron to do them. That's where I stopped because I couldn't figure out the rest. I went over to my friend Kristy's today and bless her heart she taught me how to do it and how to cut my own glass if I have to. Now I'm hooked. This is so fun but I'm going to have to wait a bit to do more as I need the flux and some more solder. The little amount they include with a new soldering iron won't last very long and I can see this becoming an addiction! LOL

Thank you for putting up with my excitement in such a simple thing! LOL

thank you tags

I had this great big long post about me and art and thought where am I going, what am I doing?! Suffice it to say that I love doing large projects to the point that when I'm not working on a swap I'll find something for myself! I finished the 4 x 4 swap and was a little lost so I came up with the brilliant idea to make thank you tags for the ladies who took part in my White on White swap. These are some of them. They were so fun to do and didn't tke hardly any time. Now what do I do?????????? LOL
