my Dear friend Heather

came to me and a few other artists about participating in an altered book RR. I have never altered a book but I was intrigued and because it was Heather, I said Sure why not! Well I have never had such a sense of hopelessness in conjunction with a project as I have had with this one. I even joined a new Yahoo group , started by another friend just for altered books so I could learn to do this.

It turned out that we took postage into consideration and decided to do tip ins for each others books. That way we weren't really constricted when it came to the size of the books we used. Once I knew what was expected of me, it's been a blast! Here are some of the pages I've done for other's books.

The text on the white blocks are garden poems printed in a dark grey as I didn't want them to overpower the paper, which is gorgeous and a favourite. I'm a sucker for patterned paper!

busy weekend

so busy, I haven't been able to get to my favourite challenge site yet. But I have finished my spread in my last music deco. I did Jeff Healey I guess as a tribute but I never really listened to his music, just not really my 'style'

And I finished a couple of other commitments which I'll share later! no more time right now!

I'm still here but

what the heck!!! ......... 2nd day of Spring and it's snowing here! Sorry to whine but I'm at a point where I'm so tired of being cold all I want is warm weather .... no snow!!!

On another note, it's been a wonderful week on Gothic Arches where I was guest host this week. If you haven't already, you should check out all the wonderful art that's being made for 'All Things Celtic'. And I must add that I have to give a huge thanks to all the wonderful artists who took part this week with a gentle reminder that there's still a day left of my challenge!!!!!! LOL

Gothic Arch

Happy St. Patrick's Day, one day early. LOL

I was thrilled when Nancy asked me if I'd hostess the Gothic Arch challenge one week, I said sure but then wondered what I would do. After very little thought, I chose All Things Celtic in honour of St. Patrick's Day and my heritage. I'm so proud of it that my screen name for almost everywhere is acelticangel.

I hope everyone has a blast with this theme and I can't wait to see all the wonderful art!

The image of the girl is from Nancy Dooren. Thank you Nancy for sharing all your wonderful images.

another mingle

for the monthly swap on Byhand. But the hostess had changed it from monthly happenings, events, birthdays, etc ... to the alphabet. Each month we do a different letter with images pertaining to that letter!

For March, I did 'I', anyone hazard a guess why? LOL

Gothic arches

this week is with the theme Transitions such as season to season, night to day, young to old etc. I checked some of the challenge art out yesterday, didn't really want to as I was afraid the posted art would affect my ideas, you know. Well, I'm glad I did because, I saw some gorgeous art and so many different interpretations, I was stunned. And when I saw what Karen Owen the hostess did, I was doubly glad as, when I heard what the challenge was, I saw her srt in my mind! I was going to do almost exactly what Karen did, but wouldn't have done half as good a job of it tho'! LOL

There were a few night to day using black and white, which I normally love to use but this time I wanted to use colour to try to achieve it. I also wanted to get more than 1 interpretation in here so I got day to night, activity to rest, egg to bird, and openness to mystery. I had so much fun with this one.

Hope you like it!

Trash!!!!

that's the theme on Gothic Arches this week. I used a piece of paper that I had stashed away and would never have found again if I hadn't been looking for the stapler. I pulled it out of the bottom of my paper storage thingy and loved it. But truth be told I would have trashed it if it hadn't have been for this challenge!

I think it's rather simple but I hope it's on the elegant side too. I brushed copper ink pad along the egde.
