and the last 4 x 4

Now I'm off to do another 4 x 4.5 monthly mingle and 18 something or others as thank you for members of a swap I hosted.

Thank you for all your kind comments on the 4 x 4 art. I truly appreciate it!

Gosh I love big projects! LOL

next to last

the theme for this one is letters and quotes. I was looking through my stash of paper and found a piece of one of my favourite Basic Grey lines and it had 'my' on it. PERFECT!!!!!!! So I looked through my stash of quotes for something starting with my that would pertain to an artist or someone who was creative and WOW! LOL I manipulated size and font, printed it out on vellum then layered it onto the base card that the B.G. paper had been pasted to. If you look close, you should be able to see the underlying layer.

and yet another 4 x 4

This one's theme is Vintage Children.

only 3 more to go! LOL These are getting harder as I go. 2 left are both quotes which I love but to try to illustrate what I choose, hmmmmmmm, and the other one is open theme.

more atcs

These were done for a 2-4-2 swap with 2 other artists.

another 4 x 4

this is for an open theme but as the recipient is partial to Oriental themes, I decided to go Oriental. When I 1st started to stamp, I went through a phase where almost everything I did was oriental but over the last couple of years, I do it very seldom. But, I had these gorgeous images in my stash and I had to use them.
I do hope she likes it.

another 4x4 with a bird theme, can you tell? LOL

These are atc that I'm sending to Belgium to be a part of an atc exhibit there of artist from all over. I'm sending 6 and I'll get 6 back when it's done from the organizers of the exhibit. This is is cool and I was honoured to be asked if I wanted to be a part of it. Ilse asked if we could send some that are indicative of our country so I sent 3 that really showed Canada and 3 other 'arty' ones. Hope they like them.

Oh my goodness

my dear friend Heather has tagged me with the Rockin' Girl Blogger award! Now I'm a curious one ... I had seen this award given to other Rockin' Girl Bloggers but I wondered what it was about. So I googled it to find the origins of such a prestigious award and this is what I found. A lady by the name of Roberta who has a great blog decided we rockin' girl bloggers needed a community so she developed the banner and tagged 5 other ladies who tagged 5 other ladies and so on and so on.....and RGB was born.

Thank you so much Heather, I am very privileged to be a member.

Now I have to tag 5 other ladies who have Rockin' Blogs! LOL

1. Jacqueline at Jacqueline's Craft Nest
2. Jan at Paper Tango
3. Nancy at Vintage Papers
4. Karie at 1 Crafty Gal
5.Teresa at Aunt T's Paper Arts

a little fun amid the art!

You Are More Yin

Are You More Yin or Yang?

I enjoy doing these little quizzes for the fun. I don't know how accurate they are but heck a little diversion never hurt anyone! LOL

another 4x4

Why is it that you can sit all day and stew for ideas but they always come when you should be in bed? I did have the elements for this one ready but I didn't know how it was going to come together.

The quote is one of my favourites from Oscar Wilde “I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.”

Bits on this one, paper by Basic Grey, Pheobe collection, journey tag sticker, the Paris postcard from Beth's site, Versafine Sepia ink pad to distress edges and my computer.

Beth , Artcricket2, was kind enough to offer up the scans of a Paris postcard that she had picked up, for free download. I love it and thank you Beth.

O.K. now I'm off to bed! LOL

4x4's

I'm involved in a 4x4 swap with 10 other artists and each of us has our own theme. I wanted to get started on them as I'm going back to work earlier than I thought and I won't have as much time to get them all done and out in time.

This is the 1st one I've completed. This artist's theme was Vintage Ladies. I'll be uploading all the pages as I finish them.

I used papers from Basic Grey's Blush, collage image from the net, swirl stamp from Autumn Leaves, metal flower, antique brad and my computer. LOL

a great new site

I was approached by a lady today, Lara Berch, who has a NEW tutorial site. She asked me if she could link to me! I was so honoured that of course I said yes! LOL I haven't had time to check out all she has to offer, but I will!!!! So far it looks great with a whole whack of sites listed in the resource link.

this is so cool!

check this site out and mark your calendars!!!!

O.K. I just looked again and it says it's in 8 days but if you check the about link it says it's the 1st Saturday of every October. Now I know time flies when you're having fun but really........

So now I'm confused! What else is new!!!!! LOL

edited July 22: I checked the site again and the countdown is working.

Beauty

I made this atc for a challenge on Esther's blog. She's away for a bit and she offered this wonderful image up for us to use in our personal art. I love it, it's so lovely.

I'm almost at 1000 hits on my counter and I'd like to thank everyone who visits and gives me a bit of a boost to keep plugging along. Blog Candy coming soon!

It would be my mom's 85th birthday today if she were alive. Wow she's been gone 23 years and I still miss her. Love you Mom.

dressing up

this is the atc I was working on when I got the idea for the mans image one. I had fun with it. I love using lace and fabric in my stuff now and I'll get more pieces of the vintage table cloth I have cut up so I can just grab for it . Much easier to be ready for the moment instead of having to stop. I so easily lose momentum when I do that. LOL

another atc

using an image that Kelly offered up as a challenge on her yahoo group Altered Designs. I'm not very good at masculine anything but this image produced a spark and as I was already playing, I decided to get this one out 1st. The one I was working on is drying now as I type and I'll put it up tomorrow. The base card is Basic Grey from the Pheobe 6 x 6 pack, stamped with Hero Art large Harlequin background stamp in platinum, then a piece of bronze metallic card was adhered, then an embossed sticker on the left corner, the image and because the right crner flt lonely, a Dymo label saying travel.

I've been tagged

by my dear friend Teresa to tell you 7 facts about me that you don't know (and may not want to know LOL)

1. I HATE cooking! My DH is a cook and he does most of it here.
2. I CAN make meat loaf. My mom made the bestt meat loaf and I am always trying to get thee same flavour that she got. No success yet.
3. I LOVE to bake and I used to bk all the time. Then we found out that DS#2 is allergic to milk proteins and I haven't baked since.
4. I drink way too much pop!
5. I LOVE thunderstorms.
6. In my lifetime so far I have moved about 17 times.
7. I prefer rubies to diamonds. They aren't my birthstone , they were my mom's, but I love them. But if DH were to surprize me with a diamond ring or earrings or something, I'd not tell him to take them back!!! LOL

there, now I have to tag 3 people at random to share their 7 little known facts so I pick

Heather
Cheryl
well I was going to tag Jacqueline but she just got tagged by 2 other ladies! LOL So I'll leave it at 2.
However, if you've never been tagged and you feel like sharing 7 facts about yourself, go right ahead! LOL

I plan to be back later with some art, hopefully! LOL

If you catch any typos, my apologies, I have a keyboaard that likes to repeat. I try to catch everythhing but proofreadingg's not my strong point.

an atc

I just made for a challenge on a new Yahoo group for collage artists that just formed only days ago. I'm really impressed with this group and the owner! It's obvious that she's put a lot of thought, time and effort into this group and I congratulate her.

There were so many great atcs uploaded I didn't know what to do to be different. The smart arse side of me came out! LOL

another binding project

the front cover, haven't decided what I'm going to do for the title

from the side

showing the rins

this is a fat book that a group of us on byhanartists yahoo group did last year. We all agree when we go into a fat book swap that the hostess doesn't have to bnd so we can do the binding ouselves to the manner we please. The above is how I finally bound mine. Took me the last 3 days to do. And boy was it fun! The rings really aren't big enough so I'm going to have to come up with anther method but not right now, I'm just happy I got it done and out of the box. LOL
